I am new here from South Carolina, I have a Fisher F4 and have used it a few times. Does anyone know anything about this detector and is it a good one or not?

Hello and welcome from Arizona.

The F4 is a good machine, especially for relatively new detectorists.   It is a proven performer.   (Go to the My Finds page and look for the posts by Bugfly or visit his profile page and access the topics he has opened that way.   You'll be blown away by some of the stuff he's found in the UK using his F4).   I've got an F4 myself.   I originally picked it up based on what I'd read and on Bugfly's results so that I could evaluate it for my father.  I wound up keeping it and given him one of my Garretts.   I still use my Garrett GTAx 1250, but more often than not you'll catch me swinging the Fisher F4.   I especially like how the 4" coil performs in "trashy" areas.   And the standard coil is small enough to get in tight places where my Garrett and White's won't but powerful enough to get the targets.   Besides, it's a nice, light machine and that means a whole lot when you've driven a couple of hours for a day hunt or an over-nighter.  The more time you can spend swinging the machine before your arm starts to feel like it is going to fall off, the better  Smiley

Yep, a good machine for sure.

On the Black bar above, click boards and look around.

You will find Fisher in there and check it out. Cool Cool

Sorry, I meant "Todays Finds" (that's what I get for multi-tasking).

Go to the Home Page and scroll down.  Below "Recent Topics" you'll find another section that says "Chat Users".   Below that, you'll See "Our Community" which lists a bunch of boards, including this one ("New User Introduction").  Below "Our Community" you'll see another set of boards labelled "Find Boards".   The first board in that section is "Todays Finds".  Click on that.   You then have an option to "sort topics".   You can use that and then just keep paging down until you find "Bugfly" in the "started by" column.

An easier way to find Bugfly's posts, though, is to go to the top of the current page (or any page for that matter) and select "Member List" from the "Community" tab.  Then select "Search for Members" and type "bugfly" into the box.   Make sure "search by name" is checked.   In "bugfly"'s case, only one member will be returned.  Click on his Username...that will take you to his profile.   Once there, you can click on the "show last topics of this member" link.   Once there, you can click on any of the underlined topic titles to go to the post.

BUT ......to save you all that effort, just click on these three links for a sampling:

ALL of these were found using a Fisher F4.
