Magnum 6 & 7, Ace 250

Go Up Go Down

Hello all,

I bought my first metal detector when I was about 14 and still have it today. I recently purchased three Ace 250's all bundle packs. Mine included three coils while my boys kits included a Garrett pin pointer. My boys are 10 & 12  so getting them started with something simple was important and the pointer helped them shorten their recovery times and keep them motivated. I baought three the same so we would have one learning curve, coil compatibiliy, and could spread out with three coils at once when we go out together.

I have used the standard 6x9 coil and the sniper 4" coil. The sniper is deadly accurate with the pin point while the 6x9 coil takes some practice to become accurate. When on the beach in wet sand I also got false 8+ inch readings and soon realized when to abandone a search as a false read.

Over all I think these are great little machines. We have been out three afternoons this week and so far I have recovered 121 coins and a diamond ring. My boys are a little slower but are having a great time just being boys, digging in the sand and insisting each other come see each new find.

If anyone has suggestions or advice I would appreciate any of your comments.

Thanks so much.
