Perhaps the Pic Micro will lend itself well to the Pulse Induction metal locator design. That will be an interesting technical challenge.

First, welcome aboard! We've already been exchanging ideas in another thread.

The PIC is the greatest electronic invention of the last century and continues to improve with maturity. There are a few designs using PIC chips around. Most of the designers sell the pre-programmed chips though. You'd be better off designing your own after you get some theory under you hat. There's plenty of that here.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Howdy folks,

Thanks kindly for the welcome  Smiley .
I think I can fit in rather well. Though I have little experience in treasure seeking, I can certainly see why it is such an exciting endeavour.
Crikey, I bet there would be all sorts of odds and ends here on my farm    Detecting   Smiley .

The technology used in these machines is very interesting indeed, and to see that some of it is employed in spacecraft is absolutely amazing!

I look forward to joining in the discussions, and helping out wherever I can, especially where electronics is involved.

Best wishes everyone,
Steve.
