Go Up Go Down

Hello I am 64 and have not done any metal detecting in 25 years. I bought a Tesoro Tiger Shark about a week ago. except for some air testing and practicing ground balance today was my first time hunting with it. I live in the Cincinnati aria and went to a local lake beach. Rider Well I found a clad dime and a nasty looking nickle Clapp 11 bobby pins from surface to 6 inches deep. a fish hook about 2 in.deep and a wire twist like used on bread. shredded foil and a pop can Detecting Its working I was hunting in all metal discrimination off. When I tune it up I still could not knock out the bobby pins. I stopped on the way home and bought a belt to hang the control box on it was getting heavy about 3 hours out. I was supprised how few hits I got on that beach and at the same time picking up hits on bobby pins 4 to 6 inches deep. Also need to get a scoop. Short handled spade is not so cool. I did work about 1 foot deep in the water. I will be getting That small Tesoro for my 6 year old grand son.Is there any Cincinnati people in this group?

I think that beach has been hunted heavy? Since I was finding bobby pins 4 & 6 inches deep. The weather in Cincinnati is nice today.

How true! I only spent 3 hours and covered about 1/20 of the aria. When I Detected before there was my honey spot! I went there because I could walk there and always found something. I am just learning again.
I have never seen any one around here detecting in the water.  Cheesy So I am looking forward to hitting those spots.I need to get some rubber gloves with sleeve first. My grandson's all fired up to go.
