Hi there my name is Frank T. and I am from central pennsylvania. I am an old newbie at MDing,as Ihave been doin it on and off for 4years or so.i own aFisher 1212x that has more than paid for itself with the finds it has made. I also own a Toltec 2 that I havent quite mastered yet. Some days I do real well with the toltec 2 and others I can't get the tuning right, but that is something I plan to work on more this year.I did own a bounty hunter and it was a good machine, until a youngster knocked it over at a park I was detecting. Anyhow lots of good info on this site, and look fordward to a new season of MDing here in Pa.

Hi Frank! Welcome to thunting.com. I liked "old newbie at MDing" as there's always something new to learn, it seems. Congrats on having that Fisher pay for itself in finds. What's your best or oldest find?

Hello Frank,

welcome to our forum.

I have had a Toltec II for many years and it is an excellent coinshooter. Also it is very easy to handle. Just set the Disc to TWO, turn the sensitivity to a position where the machines runs stable - likely SEVEN or EIGHT. And there you go! The ground balance is only need for the Allmetal modus which you don't wnat to use anyway unless for pinpointing.

The Toltec II is a very steady machine.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finds and hope that there will be many more to come!

Regards,

Christian

Thanx all for the warm welcome. let's see now my oldest find was a 1926 silver  quarter. Best find was a large mans silver wedding band.I'm mostly a coinshooter focusing on clad and just figure anything else is all gravy. I mainly hunt parks and a nearby lake where they draw the water down seasonally.Iwent to an old park today with my 16 year old son.we teamed up where as he detected and I dug.we pulled out $3.32 in clad, plus one 1920 wheatback penny, and an old tie pin or maybe a hair beret with a stylized eagle on it,that reminds of something you'd see as a patriot thing around WW2.Springs here, the grounds not frozen,so keep diggin". Frank T.
