Hi, everybody. My name is Dan. I'm new to the hobby of metal detecting. It's something I've always wanted to do. I'm fortunate to live in an place that has a lot of area to detect on. I look forward to reading all of the stories and posting a few of my own as well as posting some pics of my finds as I venture into this fascinating new hobby. Have a great day and good luck to everyone.

Hi Dan

  Welcome from Kentucky.

Love your beaches for searching. I see from your Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II Metal Detector
looks like your pretty serious. Wow I'm jealous, your so close to the sand and water.

Have you been in the water as of yet with your Sea Hunter?

Hi, MetalMaster. I'm actually jealous of all the Civil War ground you have up there in Kentucky and surrounding areas. Down here in Florida, we're pretty much resticted to beach hunting only (by law). State and historical sites are basically off limits unless you go through a lot of red tape or belong to an archealogical group or something like that. I have had my Sea Hunter in the water. The conditions have to be right for that though. The waves can beat you up pretty good if it's rough. I haven't found much in the water. Just a couple of weird pieces of metal. lol No gold yet. I'll be posting some pics of my finds in the appropriate threads soon. So, have you found any good Civil War relics?

Hi from PA.
Clearwater is my favorite part of FLA! Love it there. I'm going to Atlantic City for some beach searching this weekend. Wish me luck and good weather!

Yea, the State has stuff sorta locked up for sure.

Do you have acess to the East Coast?

The old Fisher Sites?

No have not been looking for civil war items.

Like shooting for coins and jewelry.

Like your beaches. Found lots of coins there, and have found some diamond rings and such in wet sand.

Going back again, out in the water with Garrett AT Pro next time.

Have the storms been light or heavy this week? Going to be down there next week.

Last time we where there it was pretty sanded in on the beach.

Hello, Dan.   You've definitely got some nice beaches to detect.

BA in Arizona

It's just a matter of finding the time to get over to the east coast. I hear there's some good stuff to find over there. This blog is posted from a guy over there on the "Treasure Coast".

I don't dive or have a boat, so the Fisher sites would be hard to get to. But I'm sure those sites are guarded or "off limits".
