Hello from Dallas.  New to this and just bought a used White's MXT.  I already have a blister on my hand from not wearing gloves with my dig tool.  Smiley

Howdy and welcome from a Texan in Arizona.   I strongly suggest you wear a pair of mechanics gloves, not just to protect from blisters, but because there are often sharp little surprises in those holes.   I find the mechanics gloves are light enough that they aren't usually a problem even in the summer, subtle enough that you can actually feel and handle small items with them, tough enough that unless you really clamp down on something sharp and pointy they'll provide protection, and inexpensive enough that you can afford a couple of pair---just in case.

You may want to look into getting a Garrett Pin pointer as well.
Your Whites is a great machine but if you hit that "Special" coin,
with your digger, you will regret it! Cry

Oh and howdy from a fellow Dallas County resident! Wise
