It's great to be part of this very active and diverse community.
I've been detecting for many years, in short bursts, as time permitted. I've found lots of trash + one gold ring but no gold nuggets yet.
My main interest is in gold but the odd coin or artifact makes things even more interesting.
I'm currently constructing a PI detector form an EPE magazine kit.
Should be finished soon.
I'd also like to attempt more complex detector projects, as mentioned on this forum.
My aim will be to build a machine that can detect small nuggets (5g) at a depth of at least 20 cm. (Minelab machines are far too pricey).
Has anyone had experience with a similar project?
