Greetings to you all and best wishes for the festive season  Smiley

I'm just getting back into detecting and joined up to learn more - particularly about the vast array of machines that are now available. It's a bit bewildering to try and make choice from the 100s of different models out there so I'll be doing plenty of reading and research...!

Anyway, glad to be here  Detecting

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks Digger - I just noticed in my user control panel that I currently have over 15,000 unread threads  Shocked

Where would we be without the Internet to share info - only a few years ago finding information would have taken eons but now reviews, videos, user comments and so on can be found at the click of a button...!

I have some catching up to do...

Hi Barbarossa and welcome. Nice to have you aboard! There's been some mighty impressive finds in your country - hope by spring, you've made your selection and out finding your share! Sue

Thanks to you all for the kind words.

I have recently picked up an old Garrett Treasure Ace 100 which I'm going to use for a week or two with my nephew to see if he has an interest.
I'm looking to pick up something a bit more modern and advanced in the spring - maybe a Garrett AT Pro but the ground is like a rock here at the moment...

We do have a very long history here so finds are often much older then the USA (and rarer) but we have little chance of finding gold nuggets so it's swings and roundabouts  Wink
