 [hello]I am not yet a treasure hunter, although I have been interested in treasure hunting for more than 40 years. Time and money constraints, plus military assignments got in the way. Now that I am retired, I hope to become active in treasure/artifact hunting. My older son and his wife are both active members of this group and contribute to it regularly.

At present, I have no idea about what type of metal detector to purchase. I will seek advice from my son and daughter-in-law. They are active treasure hunters in Arizona and have been for some time.

Some of the BEST advice you can get is in person, and getting a chance to use different machines will reveal things that personal opinions on the internet won't give you..

 Hello
I get down to Galveston from time to time, usually with my younger son and his family. They live in Houston. If/when I get a metal detector, I would like to search along Galveston's beaches. I also want to do the same on Padre Island, although I haven't been to Padre Island since the mid-1960s while stationed in San Antonio.
