Go Up Go Down

I'm so new to Metal detecting that I have yet to get a metal detector. I'm hoping that I will soon have one since taxes were filed a few days ago and it will free up a little cold cash. I was cruising the web looking for info on Laws and any other helpful info when I came across this forum. I think it is exactly what I was looking for. I hope one day I'll be able to contribute helpful info too. Pray

Thank You all in advance  Smiley

Welcome from New Mexico!  Yep, we have a bit of everything within these walls.

You don't need a detector to be a treasure hunter but it helps.  LOL!

Pick your weapon wise and your going to have a blast.

What sorta hunting do you think your going to go after?

I'm not too sure as of yet. I'll be happy if I'm able to find anything. I'm sure the pull tabs and such lose their thrill fairly quickly but really most of all I'm looking for something that will get my 7 year old and I outside and away from the video games for something that is a little educational and requires more energy then pushing buttons. For right now its more about the thrill of the hunt and spending time with the family. Smiley

I'm looking at the Garrett Ace 350 right now but since I have no real knowledge about any of this I up for any input on it and or advise on equipment in the same price range.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome from Arizona.   The Garret Ace 350 is a good machine.   If you enter either Ace 350 or Best Detector in the search box at the top right and search the entire forum you'll find tips on choosing a detector and a few lists of detectors many of us think should be considered and why.

I purchased a Tesoro Compodra for my 6 year old grandson for x-mas. I threw 15 bucks in change out in the backyard. Did'nt tell him...Toke him out and explaned what we're looking for and showed him in a minute how to...Huh? and after he found that half dollar he was hooked. The Compodra is a turn on and go, no fancy thrills I believe perfect for the age group....
