GARRETT SEA HUNTERII

Just got started hunting.  Using a Garrett sea hunter II.  No good finds yet, just a bunch of nails and other junk.  Taking the advice to dig all targets.  Hope I run accross something good.  Live on the beach for the last ten years and have only seen 2 out hunting in that time.
So I know there is good stuff out there.  Read alot about beach hunting.   Any one have some suggestions to improve the quality of the finds.

Hi Beachoib,

welcome to the site.   If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest you read the following previous discussions: Random Thoughts on Beach Hunting
Tips & Hints for Underwater metal detector owners
Shallow Water Treasure - Who dares wins!
and any of the posts on the subject by Alan Hassell.

You should be able to find all of these in the Beach  & Shallow Water forum.

Good luck,

BA

Hello Beachoib  Sounds like you live in the perfect spot for finding some great finds.  I'm a Newbie also, but I have hunted at Sannibel Island and loved it.  Best of luck in your search for treasure and hope to see your finds!

Thanks for the info.  Just had a storm here and low tide at 9:26 am tomorrow.  Looks like an early start will be in order.  Will have to invest in a wet suit and hope my water scoop got delivered today.  The island I live on has two inlets that where used by blockade runners during the civil war to get goods to Wilmington NC and from the research I been doing it appears two ships were suck with in 2 miles of Shallotte inlet.  There really should be some great finds out there.  Will let ya'll know what I find
