I've been into metal detecting since the late 70's, but got away from it for awhile. Used to sell White's , Garretts, and Compass.

I've been  into treasure hunting also since late 80, that was where i got my users name  as pyramid when i struck a pyramid shape stone which underneath is a lone perfect heart shape stone. this area has been identified with treasure
deposit because of a letter sent by a Japanese soldier of second world war to his son in the Philippines, to dig it.

Believe it or not, I have a simple Bounty Hunter IV.
Big bang for the buck with this machine!

NOTHING wrong with that.
never let ANYONE tell you what machine is best for YOU, or your machine isn't "good enough"
That is for YOU to decide.
I STILL use my sharpshooter 2 as a coinshooter, if I'm going to be swinging all day, sucker is LIGHT and gets good enough depth for clad and silver.

Brand snobbery has no place in MD ing and is detrimental to the hobby.
ANY detector is only as good as the amount of time the operator puts into it.

And again, welcome.
