Hi! I'm miroslav.
I'm interested in history, electronics and joking on the net;)
I don't like polish jokes, of course :-) ;-)
I hope You'll help me in my project.
Greetings!

Czesc Miroslav,

Near Legnica??? I'd love to search in a country with such a rich history as Poland. Best of luck to you! Hej! Here's one for you ........What did the one strawberry say to the other strawberry? ------ "If we weren't caught in that bed together yesterday we wouldn't be in this jam today." :-)

Hi and welcome miroslav, just reading about the sroda treasure, one of the most valuable finds in the 20th century, the other day. It was found by excavators and the locals went to the landfill and started treasure hunting in the soil that had been hauled there. Hope you make some exciting finds, too. Sue

Hi,
I'm from Kielce. My family has lived nearby The Saint Mountain of Slovians for centuries.
It is called "Łysa G?ra, Święty Krzyż" (in english translation: Saint Cross)
Local people paid tribute to a Slovian Goddes there: Mokosh-Lada. ( the Goddes of life, earth and fertility)
And that's why we have a legend, that on the top of this mountain, meetings of witches were held.
Accordingly, the graphic mark of our land is a witch on the broom (Baba Yaga)
Maybe that's why I'm interested in history and why I have specific sense of humour.
In my neighourhood, there are relicts of thousands of kilns to scorch iron(approximately 1600 years ago) and also stone mines, where stone axes were produced.
In the ground, there is also lots of relicts after wars, which have destroyed my country.
I have family in Sroda so I know this history.
I know Legnica only from small trips.
Greetings, (maybe my english is not perfect, but I hope it won't make any difference and everything is rather clear for You.)

Miroslav,  you did a very good job with your English.   The area around Kielce sounds like it would provide very interesting treasures.  I understand that in addition to the iron that you mentioned, the area has a great deal of lead and copper ore and that it was a center for the metalworking, glassblowing, and armour making.  Do you ever find any relics of these crafts?

In my country it isn't allowed to search for historical items in contrast to searching for meteorites ;-) ;-)
The relicts from war are nearly everywhere, check it on discovery: Panther tank from Bieleckie Młyny.
My friend found remains of another tank, now they are at the museum of White Eagle. Sorry, but I only find meteorites, from time to time Grin Grin Grin

You answered my next question which was going to be "what kind of restrictions does Poland have on metal detecting?"   Seems like all countries have some restrictions and some countries are so strict it isn't worth having one.   (Seems there are people everywhere who think it is their responsibility to dictate what others can and can't do, even when they do not know anything about what they are restricting).
