Yes, unfortunately, the tragedy of the Polish aircraft occurred in my city. We all sincerely mourn the dead men.
I am interested in searching for many years, but do not look at it just like searching for valuables. I like traveling, being with nature. For me the search - this is an adventure.
My findings are diverse because the story of my city is very old. There are things 9 - 13 th century, but mostly 18-19 century and during the war of 1812. (Napoleon war), as well as the War of 1941-1945.

I had the opportunity to go detecting in Bulgaria and Poland.  I can't tell you how exciting it was to find the antiquities that they have and we could never have here since we were undiscovered.  In Poland we detected near a fort that Napoleon built and I did find one button that has the 2 headed eagle.  It is thought it could be from a Czar Nicholas soldiers uniform.

You will have so much fun detecting in Russia and if I'm not mistaken, some of the treasures that were taken by Napoleon have never been found.  Good luck!!  At the very least, I live in the only state without snow at this time!!! Cheesy

hello, RGE.....Wow, here in Arizona, we're impressed if a city dates back to 1863 and you live in one that dates back to at least 863.....and it's been right in the middle of a whole lot of armed conflicts during the last 11 centuries including battles involving the Teutonic knights---definitely lot's of history there.

Margaret, your button, can try to determine  on the site pugoviza.ru. Buttons with 2-head eagle is a very common finding in our land - they were on military and civil servants.
