Go Up Go Down

Hello everyone.

I've just started to metal detect with a friend of mine. We both got Minelab X-terra 305 for a nice starter model. The main goal is get my butt up and move around. I hope to get a chance to find some Civil war relics, but I'm ok with just finding some coins. Some of the places for the Civil War stuff I want to go are have many snakes so I'm going to wait until they cool down a little.

Still just learning the machine, just been out twice. I seem to figure something out every time I go out. I also have viewed many YouTube videos that have been very helpful for me. I'll post some finds after I really get going.

Nickel_n,
I did read it, Understanding some of it. As I've gone out and tried different settings with sample targets, it makes more sense as I use it. I think it will just take a little time to get it all down. Appreciate all the welcomes.

Cheers

Welcome from Arizona.   You have just stated one of my favorite tips.......Read the manual, go out and use the detector, and then come back and read the manual again...then practice (a lot---doesn't matter whether it is a few long sessions or a bunch of short sessions.   It takes time to learn your machine and you'll put in that time one way or another).
