Hello!  I live in Texas and just joined a few minutes ago.  I like to metal detect old home sites and other old sites like baseball fields, swimming holes, and picnic sites.  I also like photography and love taking pictures of old historical sites.  Tejaswrangler   Smiley

Hi Tejaswrangler and welcome! I just discovered, from finding a very old postcard, that a baseball field used to be in a corner of a large old park here. Photography helps with detecting  Smiley Bet you've made some nice finds and hope you share them with us. Sue

Hello Sue,  old postcards can be very valuable for research purposes.  Old maps, especially old city maps is another good research tool.  One of the best sources of leads is talking to the old folks...they can tell you where the old picnic/swimming areas are located, where old parks were located, as well as where old buildings were located.  Tejaswrangler   Smiley
