Hello, Trigem. Welcome back to the hobby. Any idea what you are looking for in a detector this time? If not, if you use the search function at the top right and search the entire forum for "best detector", you'll get enough prior discussions on choosing detectors to last you a while.

from Minnesota. I got started MDing in Murfreesboro, Tn in the 70's for about 6 months Found lots of nails, pop tops and an ornate hinge and a few coins. I was using what is now a vintage basic white machine which I never fully learned how to use. Hung it up until 2005 when I bought an Garret ACE 250. That cost around $200.00 and it is not a toy. Found thousands of coins and got seriously hooked on MDing. So, good luck to you. BTW, I am not a shill for Garret. Ace 250 is a great entry level MD.
