Go Up Go Down

Just getting back into hunting again.  In process of getting a detector and equipment set up.  I think I have narrowed it down to the Fisher F4.  Will use for relic hunting, some coin hunting and maybe a little beach every now and then.

I looked at the Ace 350, but the lack of ground balance scares me off a little given the area I am in tends to have some high mineralization.

Open to suggestions,

Thanks!

Yes, that can be a problem.  I'm not up on newer detectors.  I mostly use vintage detectors now for coinshooting in parks, playgrounds & football fields.  When the detector guys get here they can give you plenty of advice about them.  There is a lot of advice on this forum about the subject.

Try the search feature in the upper right corner of the screen here.  The Ace 350 seems to get recommended a lot and the F-4 also is a popular recommendation, too!

Hello there Skinsfan from chilly Connecticut. You can ask questions on most detectors here and get some good info from the TH-ers.

Hey guys, I am about to pull the trigger on an Fisher F4 with a Garrett pro pointer. I like the price of the Ace better, but no ground balance worries me a bit.

Anyone use the F4?

Welcome from Arizona.

The Fisher F4 is a good machine.   I've used one with good results (I especially like using it with the sniper coin in "trashy" areas).   I've passed it on to my wife, and use a Tesoro Lobo SuperTraq as my primary machine now, but it is still my number one back up, so we carry my wife's whites just in case I need to "bump" her off the F4.

And if you want to see what an F4 is capable of you can do a lot worse than check some of the finds posted by member bugfly .  His results were one big factor in my pulling the trigger on the f4  when I got mine.
