Hello Everyone! We are new here, I guess you can call us (me and my father) True Beginners. My Father and I just bought a Bounty Hunter metal detector(For his b-day). Its a really nice one. Haven't used it yet because we have 3 foot of snow on the ground still. No no!

Well Here is our story and reason for leaving NY.
First off for all of you that know if you live in new york it is Not Cheap living. Our Family Lives down in Tenn. Mostly in Sweetwater. We got a Helluva deal on the New house on 68 getting everything set out for us in the next month we should be down there. So back on to the NY story, Basically Chase Bank "Helped" us modify our home mortgage. We were put in a Holding program paying $800 monthly until we got officially approved. Originally paying 1300 monthly it was nice. Until We found out we were unapproved for the mod and that 800 monthly... well the extra 500 was tacked on the back of the loan and late fees of all sorts were tacked on. So kinda in the mits of a short sale and we are scurrying out of this mess.

My father is currently 75% disabled as of 2 years ago (a story in itself) and me 25 looking to get to school and start a Technical career. We are looking to have Some fun and adventure on our off time in our new home.

Thanks
- Carl Jr

Welcome, and they are gonna love you there. really TN is a nice place, one of the nicest places I ever was stationed. The weather can be wet and warm in the summer, but its not too bad.

I started with a used Bounty Hunter. Its a good machine to start with and works well in most places. I don't care for the visual read out, but it is sensitive, too sensitive sometimes. Pull Tabs makes it hard to hunt trashy areas. I picked up a 4 inch coil and that helped a lot. A pinpointer is a great help for a newbie, but some will tell ya different.

There is a couple different models and they all have a little different operation. Be sure to post your finds, and this is a good place for answers, so ask away. But there is a search bar up top that usually has a few answers for you.

Good luck with your coin shooters. Dont let me calling my BH a nail hunter fool you, this old bh kicks butt when Im in a mode.
