Just want to say hi from Papua New Guinea (you might want to look that up on GoogleEarth),

I'm just getting into gold seeking, ideally I want to biuld and try out a sluice machine, since batteries are expensive here and there's a lot of cheap labour around anyway

Bidding you good night
Nick

Welcome to the forum Nick.

I am living in Arkansas.
Not much natural gold down here.
I do my prospecting in tot lots.
Batteries last a long time and I
can afford them.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks guys,

I'm thinking of these sluices because people here do not have much technological knowledge, you really have to teach someone to use a metal detector.

This is why sluices would be ideal, no moving parts, transportable and the labour is cheap

Hi Nick,
I googled  Smiley Interesting that one of the world's largest islands has so much gold. I suppose offshore, too? Good luck - hope your project is successful. Sue

I'm just getting into it and Lihir is about to become the largest gold producer in the world, the're located off the mainland on Lihir Island

As for placer, there's already people panning for gold using dishes, I had one guy show me photos of his crude home made sluice, it actually works and he had maybe half a gram of gold power with him. His design though, had no ripples on the board, he only had some sort of a carpet to hold back heavier pieces of debris coming through the sluice

I want to biuld a proper one..

Look at the Henry Henry sluice. So easy it will amaze you. Works great, too. I have used one.

Welcome to our site! I am very happy to see we are having someone form such a rather remote spot on our site as well! That's great! Please keep us posted about your ventures!

Best wishes,

Christian
