Shao,
Hi there, Doug from Texas, I too am new at metal detecting, and also have a lot of electronics experience.  Because of the Texas heat my 'shop' is in an unused bedroom in the house.
I am planning on building a detector, but have a lot of research to do before getting started.

Hi Doug.
I'm think i have enough material for my the first design, lot of patents and some schematics, i was looking for oscilloscope waveform drawings of commercial designs.
I probably next week i will build the coils and start circuits tests.

I do have an O-Scope, but don't have a detector to check out yet.  I have a bid in on one at e-Bay in hopes of getting started.  If you don't mind let me know how your design progresses.
