Good morning everyone!  I am a new member from Alabama.  Found this site by accident.  Have been collecting a variety of items for many years.  Looking forward to catching up with all of the interesting items on this site.

Thank you.  You have so much to explore there.

Relic Hunter.  Excellent.  Although that is not my period, I have friends that collect Civil War.  I lucked up and bought an antique box full of stuff that was found at Gettysburg, including some arrowheads.  Nothing important, except for a slug that was made into a pendant.  The box had a variety of slugs, some brass pieces and a fuse.  I find that stuff intriguing, but I enjoy the Native American stuff.

BTW, my great-great-great grandfather and his brother died at Shiloh.  Buried in a mass grave.  They were part of a militia from North Alabama.

Hello, danasaur.  Welcome from Arizona.   So what part of Alababama is home?   I used to live under the shadow of Vulcan.

I am from a little place called Wedowee (Creek: "Old Water).  Located on the Eastern side of Alabama, just south of Anniston.  When were you in B'ham?

I was there in the early 80's.   At one point, I really did live under the shadow of Vulcan.  If he had toppled off of his base towards B'ham instead of towards Homewood, there wouldn't have been much except for a few trees and some kudzu to keep him from plowing into my apartment.
