I'm in Missouri and wondered if anyone has ever been to Cass County Missouri and done any investigation of the legendary Spanish treasure that was buried supposedly by the Rodman school house in Harrisonville Missouri?

i grow up with it. we live across the road from the school house.the county has even changed the name of the road to read treasure road. we bought the place in 1964 when i was 4 year old. over the year we have have many treasure hunter come by and want to metal detect. several of them said they detected something and all where in the same place. but my dad would not let anyone dig.
 what we think is the treasure was moved you can see where a large hole was dig and after couple hundred year of filling up you can still see it.as far as the gold we found that hole also it is on the neighbors place. the odd thing is there was we found the evidents of a cabin between both holes. what makes it odd is it was located on the hill top and the nearest water was a little was way. not a good location for a cabin.
 i have search with metal detectors but no luck at was 40 years age when in my early teens. the detector are better now so i think i will start looking again.
 the original story was published in st Louis paper.there was one survivor of the Indian fight that told the story.at one time i had a copy of it but can not find it how. if any can find the original story i would grateful
