dual power, minelab musketeer advantage

Go Up Go Down

hi, I live in victoria australia and although I have not done a lot of detecting I have done a bit of prospecting. I have just bought a minelab musketeer (just gotta wait for it to arrive now) and I have a cheap chinese detector that for what it cost has been reliable and even found some treasures. The reason I bought the musketeer is because I found one almost brand new on ebay at a good price and I can't feasibly justify the price of a minelab 2100 etc. Has anyone used a musketeer for gold prospecting and if so how did it go? look forward to getting to know more people Travis Detecting

Thanks cornelius will do. I was recently detecting in my backyard just mucking around getting to know the controls so to speak and discovered an old bronze bath plug which I promptly listed on ebay, it ended up selling for 15 dollars...lol it was buried about 5 inches down. and was surrounded by quite a bit of iron trash.

Hello Travis,

welcome to our forum! Nice to have you here!

The Musketer should do allright for your purpose. The SD2010 has been one of the prefered work horses in teh Australian Gold fields. It is very good a detecting small and deep nuggets being a so called Puse Induction machine. However it is only usefull in non trashy areas.

Best wishes,

Christian

Welcome to the forum! Destructive as those wildfires have been, they should have, at least, made it easier to swing that coil out in what was brushy areas. Best of luck!
