Hi all. I'm joining in order to research some material for a new story I'm working on. I'm looking for real-world examples of people looking for coltan - how to recognize it, find it, where it usually can be found, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome from NM.

Sounds like a Trip to the Library.

A few hours on line should find you most of that.

I don't remember we having anyone here in pursuit of the stuff.

We may have?

Thanks, but my hope is to find out from someone in the field who is actually doing this or has done it, or has done something similar. The sources you cite are great of course, but so far I haven't really gotten what I think I need.  You can always read about an activity, but discussing it in a real world context with folks who actually do it is essential. I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time.

Howdy from Arizona.

I'm not sure how many people we have here who are looking for coltan....but those that are can probably be found on our prospecting forum.

Welcome to the forum!

Coltan, well as you know that's found in the Congo primarily and is of interest of course, in the heat resistant electronics & micro electronics Fields.

Welcome aboard T'hunting & enjoy, there's many great people here!!!
