Go Up Go Down

Hi
thanks for having me on site ,hope to learn from large community on here .I have been metal detecting here in England for about 10 years now , it s a great hobby that requires alot of perseverance and sticking at it to get access to land and being prepared to dig alot of rubbish .

Once in a while between lack of signals and digging up trash i have been fortunate enough to get something good and its a buzz!! Its great that feeling of touching the past and wondering who went before us and what the object you have found mean't to past people and how did it get lost .

I have had the luck to find items from most eras where metal was used here at home from bronze age ,Celtic,Roman,Saxon,Viking,Norman , medieval to present day ,I can't say I have any special interest other than the excitement of finding things though I probably like the things with most association to my local areas history such as iceni items .

Its interesting to see what others are getting in other parts of the world beyond my little world and this forum looks to have alot of people from all over.  Great

You folks have a hard time finding grounds to hunt but there finding crazy good stuff all the time.

You would  think the Romans had Pockets full of Gold some times!  LOL

iceni, Welcome to the forum from sunny Florida! Lots of good people here and we always are glad to have new members. As i understand it the iceni were a tough bunch. Gave the Romans nothing but a hard time. Have you found any of their coins? I would like to see them. gambol.
