Hello bandido . I think the best entry level detector for the money is the Garrett ACE 250 , it sells in the United States for $212.00 u.s. dollars , not a super deep VLF Metal detector but it has excellent discrimination . Another option is buying a used Metal Detector if they are available where you live . All you need is 10 more posts to be a Full Member . What area's will you be searching Dry Land or Beach Hunting ? Then we can answer more questions and you can build up more posts.

Hi Eugene,   nice to hear from  you again. actually i have read all the reviews regarding the Ace 250 & its very encouraging. i have already made enquiry and i think i will settle for the Ace 250. Have you heard of Sabah Land below the wind? Thats where i live. As a newbie i think i will practice first in my own backyard until i get the hang of it. The price here in Malaysia is RM 1880 after 20% discount. i.e about USD 550. Have a nice day.
