Hi folks new to tucson, but not the desert!! Detecting

bullhead city out laying area's has some color but you have to be ready for the heat!! because its not on the river. Would like to hear about any spots for gem stone's or just nice places to meet cool people and camping

Hello Capt from a spot just up the road from you (Phoenix area). You'll find that it is a lot easier to find a cool area in the Tucson area during summer than it is around Bullhead City. How far are you willing to drive? And what are your interests besides prospecting? ( I can start by suggesting hiking Sabino Canyon and driving out to Tombstone). There is a lot of beautiful country with a lot of interesting history and minerals within 100 miles either side of the Arizona - New Mexico border from the Mexican border all the way up past Show Low.
