ACE 250, Sniper coil

Go Up Go Down

I'm coming back to detecting after a 20 year break.   Picked up a new Ace 250 a few months back and am
finally building confidence with it now the cooler weather is on us.   I live in the community of MacBeth
in South Carolina on 30 acres that once belonged to Mayor MacBeth of Charleston prior to the Civil War.
The current structures are all from the early 1950's.   My oldest finds here are dating from 1940's.   Pretty
sure the property was occupied prior to the turn of the century.   I'll have to learn how best to obtain such
information of the area and then get started on a history of the area, as well as getting permission from
other local property owners.  I'm retired now, 65 years young, and looking forward to getting back into detecting
with a passion.   If any fellow Sandlappers (South Carolinians) would like to get together, please drop me a note and we'll make it happen.  Warm regards, Jim

P.S. I did dig a 1919 english penny from under the big water oak and a late 1800's stirling teaspoon a few feet from it.

Greetings from Australia! Nice work on your finds. It's a stroke of luck to be living on such a historic property. I look forward to seeing more of your finds in photographs soon.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Howdy, Jim.   Welcome back.  You'll find the 250 to be well to your liking.   Sounds like you've got a prime area to search.
