Hope that what my wife and I hunt for in Patagonia , Argentina fits someplace in this Forum.
We are agate collectors , travel about 6 or 7 times to old and new agate sources in Patagonia , Argentina.
Since year 2003 , we found 5 new collecting places , and during April 2008 , we found a brand new one!.
Hope to share with all the board some pictures of landscapes and cut and polished agates.

Hi Sue :
This is Claudia at one of the agate collecting sources in Patagonia , Argentina.
As you will notice , wind is always there! Summer , Winter , Autumn or Spring , always windy!.
Could not find in this board people who collect agates :

Great collectibles - I can only imagine the excitement slicing them open to see what you've really found. Steve (Goldfinger) recently shared a link to agates from Argentina in the rocks & minerals board. I'd love to collect and search for agates but I'm in an area (central US) that doesn't really have them - some colorful chert, but that's about it. I used to collect agates on the beach in California - just ocean tumbled ones that I would finish polishing, but nothing like the great ones you find.

I find it interesting about there always being windy conditions in an area - that's kind of strange - guess it's just the lay of the land - location. I'll have to look at your pictures later as my connection is very slow right now. Sue
