How is the laws in your amazing country about metal detection and treasure hunting?

There must be thousands of interesting treasure stories to research in your country?

I would be interested to hear about them in the Legendary treasures thread.

Hello Hardluck,
I could not find much about the Indian laws regarding detectors and treasure hunting.
However I read in an article that any ancient find that's more than 100 years old belongs to the government.
I don't think there are any laws about using metal detectors.

I have surely heard few stories about poor labours/farmers discovering buried treasures.

Hi,
I have never heard of any Indian metal detector forums or manufacturer.
