Go Up Go Down

hi,
joined the group recently; no special interests yet, though i'm fascinated by meteorites.
i'm also looking for info about beachcombing on Spanish beaches, for future reference; my main question would be: is it possible to make a living (of sorts) out of it?
thanks  Detecting

Hi Neil, welcome to the group.   There are people who make a living out thunting, but they are few and far between, especially when compared to your typical treasure hunter/metal detector (although some of them make a pretty good living out of it, but most of them wouldn't tell you if they did).

Greetings from Australia, Neil.

Some people do make a living from treasure hunting but mostly by accident. We all find treasure in bits and pieces which all add up to large collections of coins, jewelry and relics. Many of us gain an absolute trove of good health from fresh air and moderate exercise. Oh, yes. Bending down and standing up for hours at a time is a very good workout and fairly gentle for us older folks.

hi,
thanks; i was also thinking of the exercise/fresh air side too; planning a move to Spain - to an area where there's Ceroc dancing!; this is the plan for the daytime, maybe..  Smiley.
do you go meteorite hunting ever? is it the Nullarbor plain that's the good place?

Neil, there are lots of wide open spaces here in Australia, the Nullarbor being one. Any place like that where the ground is pretty hard would be an excellent place to hunt for meteorites. I've never hunted them there.

Australia would be on my list, as it has good weather & Ceroc.. but it?s a bit far, unf?tly. Maybe see you in the Sahara some day.  Great
