Townsville.

My wife and I purchased a book written by David De Havelland, called Gold & Ghosts vol 4, Which covers all the old gold diggings from Mackay all the way up to Torres Strait.

Right Greg, Gympie which is a long way south of you is one of the oldest gold towns in QLD, and down to Kilcoy
and inland a bit for an hour from Nambour to Jimna
