Go Up Go Down

Got a detector about two years ago and haven't really used it much.  Mostly turning up junk.  Patience has to be learned I suppose.  Looking for tips and cool places to go.
Thanks,
Walloe

Hello, Walloe......patience is important.  So is knowledge and practice.  Get over to our beginners section and start reading previous threads.   If you're like most people you need to slow down (that ain't a weed whacker or a "Stalin Lawnmower" you're swinging") and make sure you overlap your coil.  Another tip is to choose your sites.  If your hunting form modern coinage look around you for the places people are likely to lose coins (where do you have stuff fall out of your pockets).  If you're looking for older coins, concentrate on the same types of places in older areas (but remember even parks can change a lot over the years, so what would seem like a prime spot now might not have been then).
