Go Up Go Down

Just wanted to say hello! I'm from Slovenia, still a student. I've been collecting coins for years now and since I got a couple of medals and a sword from my gf, decided to become a hunter myself and increase my collection. A new Garrett arriving on Monday. Detecting.

Also, I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with this sword, it says tomas aiala on it.

Hello, Davor.......welcome to THunting.com

Could you give us some idea of the total length of the sword and of the length of the blade alone?

Thanks,

BA in Arizona.

I can tell you that Tomas Aiala was a Spanish swordmaker in the early seventeenth century (active around 1620)

Thanks! Wink
I will measure it tomorrow. 1620, huh, never imagined it being that old and still that well preserved.
Good morning!

The sword is about 81cm long, the blade alone is 68,5cm.

Neat sword - what a great place to detect! I remember seeing a picture of a castle built right into the mountains in your country - maybe there's lots of them? It was neat though! Welcome aboard! Sue

But yes, there are more than 1000 castles  in Slovenia, a lot more were destroyed in ww2 by the partisan army...have to detect a couple over the next few weeks.

Yes, that's it - predjama castle. Reading & recalling now - built into a cave with a robin hood type living there. Really is too bad that war destroyed old structures like castles. There has to be soo much neat stuff to find detecting in your country and I suspect few detect. Go for it! Sue
