Go Up Go Down

Hi.  I live in the Southeast corner of KS.  I love looking for cool old stuff in old houses,  dumps,  creeks,  garage sales.
Today I'm gonna order a big magnet and do a little magnet fishing.  Anyone else like doing this?
Thanks for letting me in,  Josh.

Hi Josh, I'm originally from that area. Hmm, magnet fish, have you fished at the strip pits? Sue

Thanks for the welcomes.  I was just telling my boss about ordering a magnet and he said he has one at home I can have.  Smiley  I'm still gonna order another,  but at least I can get a little magnet fishing in this weekend.
I forgot to add that I am very interested in arms and militaria and I collect brass and steel knuckle dusters and military knives.
I did get to do a little dump digging this last weekend.  There is a place here where the creek cuts into where an old dump was.  We found loads of cork bottles but nothing spectacular,  we left them for the next guys.  But I found an enamel Buick emblem and my friend found a token with our towns First National Bank on it and a date of 1921.  I was jealous.  This dump seems to have a lot of tokens,  I have found many there in the past.

Over by Pittsburg?  I haven't ever fished there.  I did do a lot of mountain biking in the pits.  That would probably be a great place to magnet fish.  I might have to make a side trip next time I go to Mokan Dragway.  Thanks for the idea,  I haven't ever magnet fished yet,  but it seems like something I'd really enjoy.  Josh.

Yes, over by Pittsburg. You certainly might find some old guns, cars, etc. I've magnet fished for nails in the alley  Smiley Good luck! Sue

I just ordered two 150# rated magnets from Harbor Frieght,  (the #250 were on a two week backorder).  I can't wait to get out and find some treasure.  I guess I'll just have to settle for metal detecting this weekend.  I might beat the crowds and hit the beach out at the lake before I go garage saleing.
