Need a little orientation...(seriously a lot of smilies up there!).
I am recently turned on to
gold prospecting and such, thanks to GPAA, and I've joined but haven't
had the chance yet to do much.
I'm not quite sure what this site
covers but it'd be cool to have a little connection now and then with
others of my interest...am I in the right place?
My husband doesn't seem too fascinated with prospects,
even though he has a drawer full of historic family-found arrowheads, spearheads and such.
We are on a
creek near the Marcellus Shale range in the middle of Civil War Zone, not to mention
small placer gold possibilities..I could use a little support occasionally.
We also rent every summer in Fallings Waters WV at Lee's Landing where
General Lee crossed the Potomic
with his troops from the MD side of the river. Seems to me there oughta be something of interest, it's
private property, but not on the perimeter nor in the middle of the river(?).
We live on
a 20-acre property that definitely saw historic Native American activity, use to have a log cabin,
an has small streams running through 3 gullies. I am hopeful to find something, but he says
it's just worthless shale. We are barely on the east side of the Applalation Mountain Range.
I hear there were five Gold mines down in Great Falls and I wonder, then why not up river?
Appreciate any thoughts or direction.
