Go Up Go Down

Hello,

I am Richard van Toorenburg. I live in the Netherlands, am married, have two kids a son of 14 years old and a daughter 10 years old.

I have been following this forum for some time now and I am impressed with the nice atmosphere and the combined knowledge!
I am interested in building a detector for myself, I think I like the bandido 2...

As I live in the northern part of the Netherlands, in the  middle of farmland, there is enough land I can go hunting in... I look forward to it!

I appologize in advance if I make beginners mistakes in this forum. I would appreciate a heads up if I screw up  Undecided

Kind regards
Richard

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi Richard, Welcome aboard and good luck on building a detector. You've already got a couple of good diggers (kids) so go, dad, get that thing built this winter so you can all go treasure hunting in the spring. Maybe you should build two while you're at it. . .  Smiley Sue

Hello Richard: I am a new memberr here, but have been reading posts as a non-member for a while. I just joined, too. I'm in Chicago. You speak awefully good "english" for a Hollander!! That detector you chose is an excellent one for DEPTH!! I picked up a signal w/o earphones of a target at 31 inches deep!!That was about half pound of scrap lead. And, that same day, I got a stronger reading at what turned out to be 38 inches deep. That was an iron bracket of some sort, 2 inches by 8 inches by 1/8 inch thick. This was on a farm in Illinois with ideal soil conditions.Testing at a control sight picks up single gold and then single silver coin(each 1/2 ounce, buried separate) at up to 30 inches. At 24 inches the signal was still very stroing for so deep, fwiw...

Hey, Cal-G, if you have one would you post some experiences? Whenever I tell people what I just said here about my Bandito 2, they either tell me I'm nutz, or look at me like I am nutz!! It is WAYYyyy better than my Fischer Gold-Bug (even wayy better than my Whites-Eagle), BOTH costing more.....
