Hi all, my name's Rob, 58, from B'ham UK. I returned to MD'ing April '07 after dabbling in the 70's with home-made detectors. I have two Fisher detectors, F75 and F5, and I'm lovin' both of them!  Kiss FID member.

Go Up Go Down

Hi Guys, at the end of last year and the start of this year, I spent a lot of time coinshooting on old parkland that was formerly a private estate.  I found a whole range of coinage from modern decimal through to George III copper halfpennies (1799) and pennies (1806). I made a lot of use of the F5, which I find ideal for the land I'm on. The F75 would have me digging ridiculously deep holes instead of lifting neat plugs, shame, I know there is other stuff deep down there! The F75 is reserved for ploughed field or pasture. Heres hoping I get some good permissions this year!!

Thanks for the greets guys Smiley
In reply to Christian, I had a permission, last autumn, on a small mixed (arable/beef) farm about 6 miles away. When I say small its about 50 acres, 20 acres of which are ploughed. I managed two visits and came away with 2 Roman grots a bun head penny and 2 vicky farthings. Not very productive on what is a very trashy site. They seem to have a thriving business in dismantling wooden palletts, there are nails everywhere!  The F75 had no problem seeing through the trash to the few coins I got but I later found out the land has been detected for years by a close neighbour. I seriously need some good permissions this year. Take care and HH everyone Smiley
