Another new member here.  Oakland Co.. in Michigan.
Been detecting since 1973 when my Dad helped pay ..(actually paid for) my first Whites TR model.  About the size of a 13 EEE shoe box but 5 times as heavy.
Worked good though.  Love this sport.  Been in many local th'ing clubs through the years too.  Nowadays, when I don my 'snug' fitting wet suit for some water hunting with my Fisher 80X, the relatives call me the
'great blue whale' .. ah whatever...
Hope this site pans out too ...(pun intended)
I have many years experience in all phases of treasure hunting, so I hope I can be of guidance here as well.

Hi Kitt welcome!  Have you read that book by Wallace Chandler about ADVANCED SHALLOW WATER TREASURE HUNTING?  Its a goody and deals with that area around you, I think.  There sure is some good hunting in those lakes up there.  he gives lots of good tips about detector modifications and much more.

Are there any cool agates on those beaches there?

Damn!! so many Americans on this board!! LOL
I learned to relic hunt in VA over 20 years ago.
A guy in Falmouth Va used to close his shop and take me relic hunting on Federal sites...Wish I knew then what I know now..and had my T2!!!
It was Nicky Harris who owns a relic shop...great guy..And I have had so many other Americans put themselves out and took me hunting.
For the life of me..I can't understand why so many countries hate the US...but then again we are Brothers..we are just a bit "colder" LOL
