Hit the beach or head east to St Louis Pass there was a town there at one time a big town. Also there was a civil war fort at the pass on Mud Island. Lots of old bottles in the area and a few artifacts show up on Mud Island. West of the pass 7.5 miles is the site of a shipwreck from 1890 it was a small coastal ship that was empty when wrecked but some brass spikes and other fittings show up.
Quintana Beach has a long history but would have to look up leads there,can't keep it all in my head.

Hello, pate.   Welcome from Arizona.   There is a lot of history Brazoria county.   A trip or two to the library will help you identify some additional places to search (besides the ones Seldom and Karl gave you----and help you figure out where the places Karl mentions USED to be).
