am building my own trommel for gold prospecting am finding spare parts from old bed frames n am using a 12 v elictric trolling motor hehehe  this thing has been a fun project am looking for good ideas or any suggestions on there own trommel experiences. thanx look foward to hearin from ya'll. oh and not to mention will be posting some more pics of my trommel project soon   Pray

That looks great. I also made a trommel and a concentrate bucket hauler. I made my trommel with wheels so I could pull or push to the creek. here are a couple of pictures for you to look at.

ty for the pics am considering the belly gaurd to be just on left side of trommel so i can view the material bieng tummbled and washed am wondering if this will also allow me to brush any rocks stuck in the screen. prosses is slow but its coming together  almost spring and am running outa time  few weeks am going to sulivan creek in northeastern wa state doin sum pannin will post some pics of that trip as well

      Very nice.  Welcome to the group.
       I always like to see the homebuilds our folks come up with.  Some of you come up with really great ideas.   Wouldn't mind seeing a set of plans or at least some more detailed photos posted either on the d-i-y board or on the prospectors board.

Very cool set up only thing i can think of is maybe some re-bar to reinforce your mesh
 so larger stones dont bang it all out of shape.
