Kenny from KC, Mo area. Joined in hopes of learning more about detecting and see what type of Detectors more experienced Shooters were using. I swing a Tesoro Eldorado and do like it, but would like to upgrade in the spring to a more of top of the line target ID machine. Interested in relics and coin shooting, was hoping for some advice.

Lots of great machines out there it would be tuff to decide what is the best. I use a oldes whites XLT, i'm so good with learning the machine i always make good finds with it. You can custom program it for any situation. Happy Huntin.....DW

Hi deanmiller.  One of the caves that Jesse James visited was what was called Salt Petre Cave in the old days but is called Meramec Caverns today near Stanton, Missouri.  These caverns are rich in history and some of the loot taken during the Gad's Hill Robbery was found there when it was being turned into a tourist site.

hello Kenny,

Welcome to our board! A lovely Avatar which you got there. Will if you want to stick with Tesoro then there isn't much choice. Go for the DeLeon then as it is basically the same as the Cortze (runnning on the same circuit board) but much cheaper. It can be picked up 2nd hand for around USD 230 - 260.00 on eBay.

Regards,

Christian

Thanks everyone. I will take your advice in to consideration as I hunt for a newer machine.
I am very close to both those rivers and know of several prospective spots, but gaining permission might be tough.
