Hello,

New here and want to buy a detector in the range of 300-400 dollars. I liked the Teknetics Delta 4000 but have read a few reviews that worry me. One that it has or had a software glitch and second that it is very noisy around cell phones and power lines. Does anyone know if they have updated the software and improved the shielding to help these problems? Thanks ahead of time.

Welcome from New Mexico.

Jump on in and join the fun.

A lot of detectors have issues around Cell phone and Power lines.

Don't know much about that detector.

Thanks Homefire, that makes me feel better about the unit. I really like the features of the delta 4000 and it will be great to get me started, but first I am still looking at comparable detectors in that price range. Maybe the Garrett 250 or 350, or a used minelab sounds good.

I have the Ace 250 and also the Fisher F2. You can't go wrong with either one. Both of these are at the $200 to $240 range and well worth it.

The Teknetics line of Metal Detectors have always been good machines . I believe someone on our forum has or had a like new Teknetics Gamma for sale like around $350 .

Also the "Big K" [kellyco] in Florida had a like new [slightly used] Teknetics Gamma with warranty , shipped for $398 also a great price !! I think the Kellyco lady on this forum can be contacted and if they still have the Gamma in stock , she can hold it for you .

Best Regards............Eugene

Hello Camo, welcome from Arizona.    What I've seen and heard of the Delta 400 has been pretty good, but you may want to check out its sister the Fisher F4 (sister because the same company owns both Teknetics and Fisher).   I've found it to be a reliable little detector.    The Garrett 250 and 350 that you are looking at would also be good choices.   If you can afford a bit more, I'd add the Garrett AT-Pro to your list.

(and if you don't feel the need for a digital read-out, it really is hard to beat a Tesoro-----so are we making it any easier?  Cheesy )
