Fisher 1236-X2

Howdy.  I've been a lurker for a long time, finally registered an account, and have finally made a post.

Been metal detecting for over 40 years.  Started with an old, grey, Garrett BFO machine back around 1969, give or take.  Used to detect for hours on end, found a nice diamond ring with that machine.  That ring later helped finance my bride's engagement ring.

Changed machines in the mid 70's, went to a White's Goldmaster.  The Whites uses two battery packs, and was always too expensive to re-battery before going hunting.  It's now retired, and sits, dusty, in the corner of a closet.  It's too light for a boat anchor, and just doesn't work very well now-a-days.

Bought a Fisher 1236-X2 years ago from the nice folks at Southern Treasures in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and have enjoyed using it.  I'd like to add a 10.5" coil to it for more depth, but am making do with the factory coil until a 10.5" turns up.

Anyway, here's my introduction.  Glad to be here.  Smiley Smiley

Howdy, AllenMcB.

Nice picture of Lord Baden-Powell.   We definitely have room here for a person of your experience.

That was B-P's favorite portrait. He has always been one of my heroes, and we could sure use a few men like him these days.
