I just relocated to the SW Florida area (Cape Coral/Ft Myers). I'm Semi-retired (hard to call THing or MDing a full time job until I make "full time income" doing them).

I am in the process of setting myself up to do some RVing, at least 6 months/year, to TH, MD, and prospect. The benefit is that I get to 1) not be a P-I-T-A to my children, 2) meet great people, 3) see wonderful places, 4) completely live the dream. I've always loved to travel and also to research abstract information about our Nation's history. I'm currently getting ready to get my diver's certification - lots of stuff underwater around this wonderful country.
I've just joined the GPAA and hope to start visiting many of the claims they own around the country; have not received my membership information yet, so that is still in the planning stage.

I hope to open threads with other, similarly minded THers to share ideas and leads. Once on the road (or water) I hope to publish a blog about my adventures.

Just a little trick I did with my daughter.  If you have an old ring, even one out of the play ground or you could even go by a couple of old silver dimes.  Preplan a time for the "not so interested metal detecting person" and yourself to go detecting, leave the items where you know they'll find them.  They'll be hooked for life. lol Shawn Grin
