Hello to everyone!

Thank you for this wonderful site.  For months I  have been surfing the net to learn all I can about the hobby of metal detecting as I am a complete newbie.  I grew up in a small coastal town in Virginia and for years I crabbed and fished the waters of the Potomac River.  After some years of finding hard and soft shell crabs I became acknowledged as an expert by the local watermen.
Add to that the extraordinary finds from George Washington's era we dug for on the cliffside.  It was eyes only detecting at that time, but now that I'm retired I'm planning an England Metal Detecting Tour in September 2011.  I am so stoked at the prospect
I will spend many hours from now till then preparing and enjoying the stories of real detectorists. I will watch all posts from all of you and share all I've learned,,,of interest with you! Thanks for all you do!
