CGS Verification Information On This Coin

Coin Type    TG.G3.1797.01
Description    Third Guinea George III 1797
Variety    Standard type
Provenance    Ex-London Coin Auction A126 6/9/2009 Lot 1551
Grade    AU 75

Third Guinea George III 1797

This coin was graded by London Coin Auctions as Lustrous UNC.

London Coin Auctions are strict graders but CGS Coin Grading Services are stricter grading this coin as AU 75. Best graded and likely to stay that way for some time.

Either way its a higher grade than that shown in Spinks.
Price ?600

I thank you for your quick reply.  Lustrous (does this mean that I has been shined?) and what UNC stand for.  Also Grade AU 75: sorry but I'm new at this and I don't know what this means either.  I also have sylver coins from 18something (I'll check) and a very old whistle and old dice.  I guess that since dice are not metal you may not know what their value might be...they have cards instead of 1 to 6 dots. King, queen, jack, 10 and 1 (ace I guess).  Do you have a place on this site to upload pics??

Use the Reply button not the quick reply it will let you load pictures. Older dice are made of bone and can have a large value. UNC means un-circulated AU75 is the grading system used in the coin world

Right click on your photo.

Use Save as and it should give you a option of format.

Sounds like a game token of some type. German silver but another name for nickle silver. The usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc sorry no silver
