Welcome back!!!! I'm back also..took a while to sort things out..then went on Vacation just after I got back to the board.
Did the Trenton NJ thiing to see Washingtons first Victory thought it was right as I was the Historical Advisor for the film "The Crossing" for A@E a few years back, and I had never seen the place...what a horrible city!!! and little to see there except the Crossing place and the Old British Barrarcks, they were great to see.
I traded for a 6 pound cannonball there..it was found during consturction..so I think it is Rev War as 6 and 3 pounders were what they used.
Went to DC and did some of the sites..including Arlington, the Spy Museum and the Air and Space Museum..and the Wall of course.
Then down to Fredericksburg for all those battles..saw many friends I hadn't seen for 6 years...then up through Harpers Ferry and Sharpsburg..and stayed a couple of days in Gettyburg ( I think thats my 71st trip there as I have many friends and used to re-enact)...they expect 12,000 re-enacters for the 145 anny event this year.
A friend introduced me to his friend that owns 7 acres just off the Battlefield, and I have permission to hunt the site..there is a late 1700s house there..so there are bound to be finds...I hope to get back there in the spring.
Good to see you back..now to catch up on over 140 emails!!!
Dean
